What is a Game Jam?

A game jam is a friendly competition / challenge to build a game is a specific amount of time. They usually take place over a weekend but some are longer than two days. I prefer participating in Ludum Dare game jams which are weekend jams. There are also a ton of game jams hosted on itch.io

Game jams for me are an opportunity to build on my skills. Sometimes I use game jams to try new game engines or try a new game mechanic. Either way I always walk away from a jam knowing something new and having a sense of pride that I build a small game in such a short time frame. Below you will find some of the games I have made for game jams.
